Busy time of year!!!

Hi everyone.  It's that time of year when everyone gets busy and I know I have not been posting much.  I will be taking a break until mid Jan probably.  I am trying to finish up some homemade Calendars and I have yet to start my baking. Not to mention I still have Christmas decorations to get out!!!!  I want to take time with my family to enjoy the holidays, so I might pop in now and then but I do not plan on doing any more creating until after the holidays.
I want to take this time to wish you all a Very Merrry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year.
I want to remind you to take time to enjoy each other, time passes too quickly.

Special Lady Birthday card!

This is a special card I made for a very special lady in my life, my Grandmother.  I am very fortunate to come from a wonderful family where I have had many great influences in my life, but none have been as great as that of my Grandmother.  She has always been the rock in my foundation, as well as that in our family.  She is very special to me and has taught me so much.  If I could be half the lady she is, that would be a wonderful accomplishment! So here's to you Nannie, Happy Birthday!!!

Dotto 103305
Mini Glue Dots 103683
Stampin' Dimensionals 104430

I stamped the flower images with the Espresso and then used the blender pen to get the color for the flowers.  For the leaves I used the ink pad to create a palette and once again I used the blender pen to color the leaves, giving the image a nice soft look!
The most difficult part of the card was trying to cut the dimensions small enough to fit on the nose of the hummingbird, but the 3D effect was so worth it!
I hope this card inspires you to create something special for someone in your life!

The Big Buck

I am sorry I did not get my card uploaded yesterday.  I could not find my cord to connect to the computer. This morning I found it in the toy room!  Go Figure!!!!
Here is a card I created for my husband for his birthday.

Mat Pack 105826
Paper-Piercing Tool 116631
Stamping Sponges 101610
Dotto 103305
Stamp-a-ma-jig 101049

For this card you really need the stamp-a-ma-jig for the placement of the deer.  This card you will do a masking technique.  First you need to punch out the 1" circle in scrap paper.  Place a bit of Dotto on the back and place it on you stamped image.  Then I used my sponge with Pacific Point and sponged all around on the stamped image and do the same using Night of Navy.  Lift up your 1" circle and rub off the dotto, eh voila, look at the great moon shining down on that big buck!   He looks like the one who got away!!!!
I love the new Decorative Label XL punch because I can place so many stamped sayings in it, this one is from the Define your Life set and says it perfectly!
Have a great day!

Scenic Picture

Good morning everyone!  I am feeling very much in the Christmas spirit and here is a card that brings back memories of Christmas holidays past.
I know, again I am using a stamp from the Welcome Christmas stamp set, honestly I love it and now you should all love all the possibilities it offers too from all the different cards I have posted with this set! It definitely need to be on your to get list!

Stamps: Welcome Christmas 118736 &
Scenic Season 115354
CS: Bravo Burgundy 105123 &

Smooch Pearlized Accent Ink: Moonlight 119969 & Illuminate Top Coat 121084
Big Shot 113439
Textured Impressions Embossing Folder: Petals-a-Plenty 116824
Dotto 103305
Stamp-a-ma-jig 101049

This card involves some tearing around the outside edges to give it a nostalgic look!  To accent the trees I used the Moonlight on the trees and drew in some lines and squiggles.  Then I took the Top Coat which has glitter in it to give the snow a glistening look above the tree branches and the snow line.
Hope you enjoy this card!

Big shot 113439
Textured Impressions Embossing Folder: Northern Flurry 120902

This card is a simple card for a Saturday and you get to have fun using our Smooch Spritz!!!!
For the tag with the snowman I stamped out the image twice.  On the backside of one of the images I cut just above the snow line.  The I took this cut snowy piece and put it in the Color Catcher and Spitzed the Vanilla Shimmer on it.  After this dried I put two dimensionals on the back and attached to the front of the snowman tag... this way you do not see the To: & From: and it makes a cute  image for the card.
If you have trouble placing your bling on the punched out shape, you can use the tip of your paper snips to give you exact placement for your bling!
Have a great weekend!

Batty For You Costume Party Invite

So sorry for not getting anything posted last week.  I was having problems with a tooth, but all is good now.

Here is a card that my eight year old designed and made for her costume party...she was so excited about her card that I told her I would post it on my blog.  She did them on her own, with a bit of help with the tearing.  I think she did a great job!

Shimmer Paint: Platinum 116807
Classic Stampin' Ink Refill: Rich Razzleberry 115664
Color Catcher 121093
An empty mini Spray Bottle
Some Rubbing Alcohol

To get the shimmer on the spider web, I took an empty mini spray bottle and added approx 3/4 full of the bottle with Rubbing Alcohol.  In this I added approx 7-8 drops of Rich Razzleberry Classic Stampin' Ink Refill and about 5 drops of Platinum Shimmer Paint.  Shake well. Then place the embossed Rich Razzleberry piece in the color catcher and spray it!
This works great on our Paper Daisies as well and will turn them a rich razzlebery color with some shimmer to them.

Bone Folder 102300

For those of you that have not tried out our wonderful fabric, this is a great card to try it on.  I cut out a square an inch bigger then what I needed to cut out the scallop square. I then cut out a square a bit smaller then the fabric, of the Adhesive Sheets.  Peel one side off of the Adhesive Sheet and lay it on the backside of the fabric.  I then took my Bone folder to press the Adhesive Sheet good onto the fabric.  Then you run the die through the Big Shot (I used a shim of paper because the fabric is not as thick as paper, to get a clean cut).
I hope you enjoy this card!

Dotto 103305
Big Shot 113439
Textured Impressions Embossing Folders: Perfect Polka Dots 117335

This card is a pretty simple card to make...it just has many steps! You need your trusty Stamp-a-ma-jig to stamp on the Old Olive Paper, unless you are a pro at lining up the stamps. I tend to do all my stamping and  my punching before I even think of using my Dotto(and make sure you emboss the cardbase before you glue)!
Enjoy!

Wedding Cake

I made this card for our cousin's wedding.  I love this stamp set and do not get to use it often enough!

Stamps: For the Bride 113216
(not in the catalogue, but IS still
      available)
CS: Basic Grey 121044,
Whisper White 100730
DSP: Elegant Soirée 117163
Punch: Scallop Trim Border 118402
Organza Ribbon 5/8" Whisper White
(need 23") 114319
Mini Glue Dots 103683
Dotto 103305
Stampin' Dimentionals 104430 (used 5)
Mat Pack 105826
Paper-Piercing Tool 116631

I wanted to make this card elegant, so the Organza Ribbon was just what I needed.  Combine the ribbon with the wonderful border punch and it was just the right accent I needed.  I used the bunny ears technique (I have a horrible time tying bows and this is the best way for me). I did some piercing around the stamped image to dress it up and then placed 5 Stampin' Dimentionals behind the stamped image to have it pop out from the Basic Grey mat.

Have a great weekend everyone!

It is all about layers! The key to this card is stamping the Spooky image first before you emboss. I had to add some bling using the new glimmer brads... enjoy!

Clearlits Die Scallop Rectangle 118872

For the stamped image, I used the marker technique and stamped the image on a rectangle piece of  Whisper White cs then I used the Clearlits Die to cut out the wonderful Scallop Rectangle shape.  I cut off one of the Jewels out of the row of jewels to accent the stamped image.  I folded the waffle paper to try and give it a little dimension.
Hope you enjoy this card!
