Cupcake Pizzazz!

Hi everyone!  I hope everyone is having a great weekend.   I am fooled by the beautiful sun outside beaming in my scrap room window.  It feels so hot, but step outside and it is cool!!!  Oh well, it feels good right where I am sitting.
We had a great family day today.  We had my brother-in law, sister-in-law and our adorable niece over for lunch.  Honey broke out the BBQ and we had hamburgers and hotdogs with a great big salad.  Yummy!!! Then for a treat my honey boiled some syrup and we had sugar on snow.... of course I ate too much and my stomach was tellng me that I was very bad, it is still the weekend right.  I promised myself I would have a salad for supper!!!!

Now for my creation... my card.  I tell you I love this stamp set and matching punch.  Makes life so easy!!!!

Big Shot 113439
Textured Impressions Embossing Folder: Perfect Polka Dots 117335
Punches: 3/16" Corner Small 119871, Scallop Oval XL 119856, & Oval Lg 1 3/4X7/8"  119855
Ribbon: Satin 5/8" Pretty in Pink 117289 & Taffeta 1/8" Early Espresso 119959
Dotto:103305
Mini Glue Dots 103683

I stamped the image then added one of our beautiful Antique Brads, which I find really dress up a card or a scrapbooking page.  I rounded the 2 corners of the image and the mat.  In between the "bliss" and the scalloped oval I used some dimensionals to give 3 D to the card.  I then used the two different ribbons to dress up the edge.  I love how this turned out.
Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Cancer...

Not only am I in the mist of organizing for the sixth year a fundraiser for the Canadian Cancer Society, but my father-in-law has been recently diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma at stage 3bs.  He had his first chemo treatment on Friday.  So needless to say the last few weeks have been stressful.  The good news in  this type of  cancer is supposed to be treatable... we pray that this is the case.  I lost my dad to cancer when he was 55, it will be 7years in July.  He was the reason I started organizing the Crop for a Cure for the Canadian Cancer Society... I wanted to do something to help make a difference in his memory.
If anyone would like information on this please do not hestitate to leave me a comment.

Spring is in the Air!

Spring is around the corner and this card made me think of spring!
Stamps: Eastern Blooms 111626
CS:  Whisper White 100703,
So Saffron 105118, &
Rose Red 102544
DSP Subtles Stack 117152
Stampin' Write Markers:
Rose Red 100063 &
Early Espresso 119680
Ribbon: 3/8" Taffeta
Early Espresso 119964
Jewels: Basic Pearls 119247

Big Shot 113439
Textured Impressions Embossing Folder:
Perfect Polka Dots 117335
Dotto 103305
Mini Glue Dots 103683
On this card I used the marker and the scrunchy ribbon techniques.  To pick my colors I referred to the Color Coach 120148 which gave me Rose Red and Wild Wasabi for a creative combination to go with So Saffron.  I used the Wild Wasabi DSP paper from the subtles stack and dressed up the rose red by embossing the polka dots on it!!!  I made a scrunchy ribbon with the taffeta ribbon by pulling on a fiber in the middle of the ribbon and "scrunching" up the ribbon as I went.  I give myself about 11" when working for a piece to go along the width 4 1/4" of the card so I have plenty left to wrap around the base or if I want to trim and leave on the front there is ample ribbon.  I used mini glue dots to stick down the scrunchy ribbon.  I then used 3 of the medium sized pearls in the top right corner of the card to add the final touch!!!
Have a great day!

Greetings, Earthling!

We started off our Sunday by going out for a huge breakfast and then we went visiting the all the great grandmothers.  Since then we have been having a lazy afternoon.  I decided to take advantage of the peace and quiet and created this card!
Stamps: Greetings, Earthling! 113810

Bashful Blue 105120,

2 1/2" Circle XL 120906, &
1 1/4" Circle Lg 119861
Quick Accents: Celebrations
Paper Snips 103579
Big shot 113439
Textured Impressions Embossing Folder: Perfect Polka Dots 117335
Dotto 103305
2-Way Glue Pen 100425
Stampin' Dimensionals 104430
This card started out by me knowing that I wanted to use the Quick Accents again... they are so much fun to use!  On this card I used the big polka dotted circle and the small scallop pear pizzazz one.  I also used the border strip with the red polka dots on it. To make the aliens POP a bit more I decided instead of watercoloring them I would stamp right on the cs and then cut then out.  I glued them onto cut out circles and then put dimensionals behind the circle to make it stand out a bit more.
Hope you enjoyed this card!

Celebration!

It has been quite busy around here with March break on.  The kids and I have been quite busy.  They have been working very hard (& loving it) on their own scrapbooks, with my help with the cutting.  We visited the Science and Nature museum and had a shopping trip where they wanted to spend some of their allowance that they had saved on some scrapbooking stickers.  We have been busy making soup and baking muffins in large batches as well.  Mmmm... Mmmm hope you aren't hungry!!! :)  Needless to say I have not had much time for me to create.  I took some time this afternoon and this is the result....

Ever since the new catalog came out in July I have been lovin' all the great Quick Accents.  On this card I used the two scallop circles from it!!!  I love how easy it is to create quick cards and scrapbooking pages using the Quick Accents and matching Design Series Paper (DSP)!!! Thank you Stampin' Up! for making my life easy!!!!  I had fun playing with the Button, Button set in the Occasions Mini Cattie and all the great punches.
Well, I hope you liked this card!
